Hi APC! My name is Sydney Singh. In the midst of global climate change, I want a future. I want there to be a future for my children, especially.
Just like my parents, they want the best for me.
I am half Guyanese and half Indian. I am a firstborn American, and I am interested in non-definitive art. (I made this term up, but it means art with many purposes.) I grew a passion for fashion just recently. I get a rush when picking out clothes for school and showing them off and maybe receiving a compliment or two. I love it when we, society, come together to show our creative minds.
I made this piece including a few of my favorite designs. Starry Night by Van Gough is my favorite artwork because the name has the word starry yet there is not one physical star in the art when I observe it. Metaphorically, Van Gough used swirls as the wind on a windy night. The art piece is dreamy and has a fragrance of soft, creamy wind. There is a sketch of me in the wind to show both my beauty and nature’s: both natural.
If you take a look closer, there is a Snapchat heart crown because it is my favorite filter. I wanted to incorporate a Gen Z feel to this piece because our generation is filled with social media but also climate change activists like Greta Thunberg who I would love to meet one day.
